Food Sold In our Canteen

Do you like the food sold in our canteen? I am going to share with you how I find the food in our school canteen.

I do not bring lunchbox to school so I would buy food from the stalls. I like stall 4, 6 and 8 because I think the food there is healthy.

I don't quite like the food @ stall 5 and 7. Stall 7 sells malay food. I don't like to eat malay food. Stall 5 sells crabmeat, which I would never eat it again. Because of one incident...

When I was primary one, I would order food from mostly stall 4 and 5. I think the food is very nice. But one day, I order a crabmeat from stall 5. I ate the crabmeat. When our class,1.3 went back to our class. I sat down on my seat, and suddenly, I felt that my body became very cold. I felt uncomfortable. Few seconds later, I vomited on my desk. I still remembered that it was chinese period. I rest in class... When I got back home, I vomited again!!! I rested on my bed.

The next day, I recovered...

The day I went to BBQ...

Normal school day... It was a Wednesday. I went to school and everything went as per normal. When I came back from home, I need not go to tuition. Why? I am going to BBQ of course! :D I got ready and lucky for my brother, he came back @ 3.00++ But he is supposed to be dismissed @ 6.00p.m. SOOOO unlucky for me... :(

My parents went to fetch him. He came back home and got ready, too. We leave home @ about 6.00p.m. My father borrowed my uncle's car and we drove there. Then, I realised that it was the Police Officers' Mess. I looked around the 'building', it seems to be QUITE old and also quite big. There's a playground at the back. We walked around. Soon, most of my father's collouges had came. We sat down and chatted.

It was 7.00p.m. when the BBQ is ready. We ate our food and drank Coke. It was DELICIOUS!!! Yumm! I made friendz with my father's chilidren, Tian Le and ____(Not sure about her name but can be sure that she is a girl -_-") Tian Le is Sec 1 and his sister is Primary 5, same as me. So after that, we play pool. It was fun. HAHA... We played for 1 hour(Which is until 9.30p.m.). I was quite tired by 9.3op.m. because everyday, I would always sleep at 9.30p.m, some times 9.00p.m!!! Anyway, after playing pool, we went to the Kalaok Lounge(Dunno how to spell, =P) The police officers sang songs until 12.30a.m. I was yawning... Going to sleep SOON!!!

Finally, the police officers decided to go home. I rushed into the car and slept. And my brother, he was still very active(Dunno he got drink coffee anot, why so active?) I suddenly felt that someone is tapping me, I opened my eyes and realised that my brother is asking me to wake up. We were home!!! YAY! I got back, bathe and of course, sleep. :D

That's how I spent my day. I would share with you my brother's birthday celebration on 5 May. Stay Tune, :D

Time flies! Now, it's already Term 2. Remember? The new monitor & monitress! That's right! I was very excited and I had a feeling that Andrea, Vikaesh & Zane would have a chance. Mr. Tan wrote the names... I saw Andrea's name, Hannah's, Lydia's... Wait, there's MY name-Shernise! I can't believe it and it's totally BELIEVEABLE! OMG... I bet no one would vote for me.. But guess what, after we write the monitor & monitress we wish to have, Mr. Tan start to draw lines...

"Shernise and Vikaesh!" Mr. Tan called out. "Oh..." The class was dissapointed... "Andrea and Zane!" Mr. Tan shouted again. "Yay!!!" The class jumped up. I knew that Andrea would stand a chance! After voting, of course, Zane & Andrea were the new class monitor and monitress... But I felt happy for them.

It's not the fault of student if he/she fails because the year ONLYhas 365 days...typical academic year for a student:

1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest.Days left 313.

2. Summer holidays - 50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study.Days left 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE.&nbs; Days left 141.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days.Days left 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing) - means 30 days.Days left 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) - means 15 days.Days left 81.

7. Exam days -! per yea r at least 35 days.Days left 46.

8. Quarterly, half yearly and festival (holidays) - 40 days.Days left 6.

9. For sickness - at least 3 days.Days left 3.

10. Movies and functions- at least 2 days.1 day left.

Halo! How's the trip 2 Road Safety Park? I tink it's fun, even though I was a pedestrian... Auctually, I had 2 CHANCES of being a cyclist & motorist!!! But I rejected it... It was very bad... And fun. Anyway, I was the pedestrian. Our class went with 5.6, 5.8, 5.9 & 5.10. When we were on the bus, I sat with Trina, Lydia, Kimberly, Hannah. Me & Trina listened to my MP3 together. And soon, we reached the entrance @ Road Safety Park. We got down & lined up in twos... We went in... and we SAT down in classes. The cyclists & motorists went to the hall first. Then followed by 5.6, 5.7(our class), 5.8, 5.9, 5.10. We went into the hall and realised that it was an air-conditioned hall... We saw small cards on every chair. I wonder what is it? I thought. Then for the next 15 mins, a trainer dressed in a police 'costume', taught us some safety rules and gave us the intructions of how to play a part as the cyclist, motorist or pedestrian. Phew! Finally the 'game' started. My route on the card is K. Trina's is L(I think soo...) :D Our first stop was the same. And then, we had different places to 'visit'. [sad] I said good bye to Trina and she did the same to me. After I found my third station, I met Trina. :D We say 'hi' & 'bye' and then we went off. Finally, after 1 hour(I think soo...), I was DONE!!! :P I finished the 'game' first, then Trina. (I am not the first to finished the 'game' in class, OF COURSE!) We went to a stall selling tibits & drinks. I bought a can of coke and Trina bought Ice Lemon Tea. We wanted to eat Trina's scrambled eggs but we had not time. After our 'break', we went back to the hall and settled down. The trainer showed us a video of road safety. I learned that we should cross the road with our hand raised. I also learned that we should use pedestrian crossing and underpass. We should cross only when the traffic light is the green man. I hope you learned something from the trip too! See ya!

Hiieee... I wasn't so happy these days. I had to practise oral(Reading aloud & Picture Discussion). I am afraid that I will fail my picture discussion because I am bad at it! I know that I am bad at it so I had to improve... I often take out newspapers and started reading it. Sometimes, when my father is around, he will point out my mistakes and I learn. Many times, I didn't read properly. My father said to me, "If you want to score, you need to read more books and newspapers. You must have confidence!". Mr. Tan said that we will improve and guess what, I am QUITE good in reading now! As long as I follow Mr. Tan and my family closely, I would be able to be a good reader 1 day... + A Simple Story of True Love and True Care +

I was born in a secluded village on a mountain. Day by day, my parents plowed the yellow dry soil with their backs towards the sky. I have a brother who is 3 years younger than me. I wanted to buy a handkerchief, which all girls around me seemed to have. So, one day I stole 50 cents from my father's drawer. Father had discovered about the stolen money right away.
He made me and my younger brother kneel against the wall as he held a bamboo stick in his hand. "Who stole the money?" he asked. I was stunned, too afraid to talk. Neither of us admitted to the fault, so he said, "Fine, if nobody wants to admit, you two should be beaten!" He lifted up the bamboo stick. Suddenly, my younger brother gripped father's hand and said," Dad, I was the one who did it!" The long stick smacked my brother's back repeatedly. Father was so angry that he kept on whipping my brother until he lost his breath. After that, he sat down on our stone bed and scolded my brother, "You have learned to steal from your own house now. What other embarrassing things will you are possibly doing in the future? You should be beaten to death, you shameless thief!" That night, my mother and I hugged my brother. His body was full of wounds from the beating but he never shed a single tear. In the middle of the night, all of sudden, I cried out loudly. My brother covered my mouth with his little hand and said, “Sis, now don't cry anymore. Everything has happened." I still hate myself for not having enough courage to admit what I did.
Years gone by, but the incident still seemed like it just happened yesterday. I will never forget my brother's __expression when
he protected me. That year, my brother was 8 years old and I was 11 years old. When my brother was in his last year of secondary school, he was accepted in an upper secondary school in the central. At the same time, I was accepted into a university in the province. That night, father squatted in the yard, smoking, packet by packet. I could hear him ask my mother, "Both of our children, they have good results? Very good results?" Mother wiped off her tears and sighed," What is the use? How can we possibly finance both of them?" At that time, my brother walked out, he stood in front of father and said, “Dad, I don't want to continue my study anymore, I have read enough books."

Father swung his hand and slapped my brother on his face. "Why do you have a spirit so damn weak? Even if it means I have to beg for money on the streets, I will send you two to school until you have both finished your study!"
And then, he started to knock on every house in the village to borrow money. I stuck out my hand as gently as I can to my brother's swollen face, and told him, "A boy has to continue his study; If not, he will not be able to overcome this poverty we are experiencing."
I, on the other hand, had decided not to further my study at the university. Nobody knew that on the next day, before dawn, my brother left the house with a few pieces of worn-out clothes and a few dry beans. He sneaked to my side of the bed and left a note on my pillow; "Sis, getting into a university is not easy. I will go find a job and I will send money to you." I held the note while sitting on my bed, and cried until I lost my voice.
That year, my brother was 17 years old; I was 20 years old. With the money father borrowed from the whole village, and the money my brother earned from carrying cement on his back at a construction site, finally, I managed to get to the third year of my study in the university.
One day, while I was studying in my room, my roommate came in and told me, “There’s a villager waiting for you outside!" Why would there be a villager looking for me? I walked out, and I saw my brother from afar. His whole body was covered with dirt, dust, cement and sand. I asked him, "Why did you not tell my roommate that you are my brother?" He replied with a smile," Look at my appearance. What will they think if they would know that I am your brother? Won't they laugh at you?" I felt so touched, and tears filled my eyes. I swept away dirt and dust from my brother's body. And told him with a lump in my throat, “I don't care what people would say! You are my brother no matter what your appearance is?"
From his pocket, he took out a butterfly hair clip. He put it on my hair and said, "I saw all the girls in town are wearing it. So, I think you should also have one." I could not hold back myself anymore. I pulled my brother into my arms and cried.
That year, my brother was 20 years old; I was 23 years old. I noticed that the broken window was repaired the first time I brought my boyfriend home.The house was scrubbed cleaned. After my boyfriend left, I danced like a little girl in front of my mother, "Mom, you didn't have to spend so much time cleaning the house!" But she told me with a smile,"It was your brother who went home early to clean the house. Didn't you see the wound on his hand? He hurt his hand while he was replacing the window." I went into my brother's bedroom. Looking at his thin face, I felt like there are hundreds of needle pricked in my heart.I applied some ointment on his wound and put a bandage on it, "Does it hurt? " I asked him. "No, it doesn't hurt. You know, when at the construction site, stones keep falling on my feet. Even that could not stop me from working." In the middle of the sentence, he stopped. I turned my back on him and tears rolled down my face.
That year, my brother was 23 years old; I was 26 years old. After I got married, I lived in the city. Many times my husband invited my parents to come and live with us, but they didn't want. They said, once they left the village, they wouldn't know what to do. My brother agreed with them. He said, "Sis, you just take care of your parents-in-law. I will take care of mom and dad here." My husband became the director of his factory. We asked my brother to accept the offer of being the manager in the maintenance department. But my brother rejected the offer. He insisted on working as a repairman instead for a start.One day, my brother was on the top of a ladder repairing a cable, when he got electrocuted, and was sent to the hospital. My husband and I visited him at the hospital. Looking at the white gypsum on his leg, I grumbled, "Why did you reject the offer of being a manager? Managers won't do something dangerous like that. Now look at you, You are suffering a serious injury. Why didn't you just listen to us?"With a serious expression on his face, he defended his decision, "Think of brother-in-law. He just became the director, and I being uneducated, and would become a manager, what kind of rumors would fly around?" My husband's eyes filled up with tears, and then I said, "But you lack in education only because of me!" "Why do you talk about the past?" he said and then he held my hand.
That year, he was 26 years old and I was 29 years old. My brother was 30 years old when he married a farmer girl from the village. During the wedding reception, the master of ceremonies asked him, "Who is the one person you respect and love the most?"
Without even taking a time to think, he answered," My sister." He continued by telling a story I could not even remember."When I was in primary school, the school was in a different village. Everyday, my sister and I would walk for 2 hours to school and back home. One day, I lost the other pair of my gloves. My sister gave me one of hers.
She wore only one glove and she had to walk far. When we got home, her hands were trembling because of the cold weather that she could not even hold her chopsticks. From that day on, I swore that as long as I live, I would take care of my sister and will always be good to her." Applause filled up the room. All guests turned their attention to me. I found it hard to speak, "In my whole life, the one I would like to thank most is my brother," And in this happy occasion, in front of the crowd, tears were rolling down my face again.

My Father's Birthday..

Today is my father's birthday(07.04.08). He took leave today, so as my mother.

Okay, anyway it started with a BORING morning. I woke up @ 5.30a.m (as usual). And I went to bathe and wash up (as usual). And I took a look at my whiteboard.. And I realised that something is NOT usual.. And today is also a SPECIAL day... It was my father's birthday! OMG, how can I forget about my own daddy's birthday?! I wondered. I ate my breakfast and went to school.

I had a Leadership Course Training today and I was sad that I couldn't celebrate with my father his birthday... :(

During the Leadership Course Training, it was boring & fun. :D I just like the training.... A trainer told us some good values like- Self-Control, Discipline, and some stories...

After the training, I took a bus back home. I got home @ about 4.15p.m... My father & mother went to Cold Storage and bought some things back... They came back at about 6.00p.m.++

I watched TV and do some school work, assessments... After that, we sang birthday song for my dad and we ate the peach & lychee cake. It was YUMMY!!! :D

Anyway, had an enjoyable day at home & in school! :D

I want to be a teacher when I grow up. I want to educate nurture & groom. I hope everybody is educate... Too bad, my grandmother dunno how to speak english.. But now she is willing to learn & I am willing to teach her.

There are some reasons why I want to be a teacher. Teacher is:

-Thinking of others

-Encouraging

-Always sharing his/her thoughts

-Caring

-Helping others

-Enthusiatic

-Reaching out her hand

The only thing that I am afraid is that the students will give the teachers HEADACHE!!! :D

My Grandmother's Birthday

Today(03.04.08) is my grandmother's birthday. She wasn't very happy about her birthday-and I don't know why. But anyway, I woke up in the morning and of course, I greeted my grandmother 'Good morning' & 'Happy Birthday'. I ate my breakfast and soon, I had to go to school(by school bus). My grandmother went down to wait for the school bus with me.. And we chatted a little..
When I came back home, my father was at home, with my great-grandmother & grandmother. I went to bathe and then I did my homework. After an hour, I used the computer.
About 30 mins later, I stopped using the computer. I continue doing my assessments... I watched the TV at 5.30p.m. and the show ended at 6.30p.m.
About dinner time, my auntie came with my 2 little cute cousins. My unle wasn't with my auntie for 3 months because he needed to go New Zealand to train(I think soo..). He was quite busy.. Anyway, we ate our dinner happily and my brother and I played with my 2 cousins.. It was quite fun I mean, VERY fun! :D
We rest for about 1 hour then we sang the birthday song and ate some cakes. My grandparents didn't eat the cake - I don't know why.
When it was 9 o'clock, my auntie and cousins went home. My brother and I also went to sleep at about 9.30p.m. I had a great day!

My father's birthday is coming soon, it is on 07.04.08. I hope to tell you more about what happened on that day...

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, a public holiday. It is also a school holiday. I woke up in the morning, and went to the temple with an empty stomach.. I was very hungry. My father was looking for a tie-hanger, so me & my brother had to follow him. My father was hungry too. So, he said we will look for it later(after breakfast).

We went to the market to eat. I ate the delicious wanton noodles and my brother had "chee kueh". My parents had prawn mee. I was thinking: If I hadn't eat my breakfast by now, I would be starve to death... phew! I was still thinking of it when my brother interrupped my thoughts.. He asked me if he could taste some of my soup. Of course, as a 'good' sister, I would surely let my brother have it...

After breakfast, we continue to look for the hanger(we very hardworking; after eating we continue with our 'work'). We passed by shops, shops, and shops... But we just cold not find the hanger! Finally, there's one shop that sells this hanger. Phew!!! I was so happy that we found the "treasure".

We slowly made our way to a shopping mall(I don't know the name). It was not very crowded even though it was a holiday. We went to play arcade @ the toys' department. We(me & my brother) had each 10 tokens.. We played basketball, eletronic air hockey, etc. Anyway, using 10 tokens was like using 1 token(time flies).. But me and my brother, Jeremy, did not ask for more tokens(because we were very obidient). We went back home after that...

And that is how I spend my good friday.

Trina's Chalet...

Halo! I went to Trina's chalet on Thursday. I reached there at 11.25 a.m. Hannah & Yuxuan were already there.

We waited for Andrea to come and then we went to play arcade. It was fun! We played basketball, racing car, we oso played a game. We are supposed to scoop sweets. After that, we went to the food court to eat chicken rice. Yuxuan said he want chicken rice. But what he meant was that he want the rice only. lol... After eating our lunch, we went to play "funkey" tunnel. Yuxuan lead us and we nearly lost him. Phew!

Finally, we went back to the chalet. It was quite small. We played card games in the living room. Then, we slowly made our way back to the shopping centre and we went to "paint" an art. We had fun doing that, too.

The sky was quite dark so Trina's mother decided that we should have a proper meal because we don't know if we can have BBQ. We had Macdonalds for our dinner. When it was 7.30 p.m. we started our BBQ. I had a chicken wing and a few sausages/ hotdogs.

When it was 8.00 p.m. my father said I have to go so Trina brought me down and I saw my brother & father. I said good-bye to my friends and I go back home.

Sport's Canival 2008...

Halo, I am back! I am going to tell you what event is it today. It's the Sport's Canival 2008. This morning, P5 & P6 assembled in the parade square coz we're going to the Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex. At the swimming complex, it was very boring. Trina, Andrea and me were chatting while some of my classmates went to play some water-games. Anyway, went we came back to school, we had to wait until 12 noon then we can eat our ice-cream. While waiting, Ms Teo( the relieve teacher), let us play. Our classroom was as noisy as "pasar malam". -_-"!

Finally, our ice-cream came. Davian and Wesley went down to take the box of ice-cream. I had a Swensens Vanilla ice-cream. Yummy! After eating my ice-cream, it was about 12:25 p.m. and Mr. Tan took the class down. He told us that we must not leave the school until it's 1:00 p.m. Andrea, Trina, Xin Xian, Hannah, Shu Xuan and me of course, saw some picture-taking. I think I remembered Mr. Tan asking the class to support that picture-taking stuff. And we decided to take a picture. The picture above. Anyway, I had quite a nice day.

Once, there's a girl called Matilda. Matilda is brilliant and smart. She had a brother, 3 years older than Matilda. Matilda's brother name is Michael. Matilda started reading newspapers at the age of 4. However, Mr & Mrs Wormwood (Matilda's parents) think that Matilda should watch more TV than reading books. Everyday, after Mr Wormwood goes to work, after Mrs Wormwood goes to play bingo with her friends, after Michael goes to school, Matilda will go to the library and read books. She will come back before her mother or father comes back.

One day, while the Wormwood family is having their dinner, Matilda took out a library book and started reading it. Her father saw, he walk towards Matilda, snatched the book from her and tore it into pieces. Unlike other children, Matilda did not cry at all. She just stood there quietly. The next day, Matilda ran to her neighbour, Fred. Fred keep a parrot named Chopper. Matilda wanted to borrow it from Fred for one night. But Fred said "no". However, Matilda managed to get it from Fred by giving all her pocket money.

On that night, while Matilda, Michael and their parents were watching TV, Matilda suddenly heard a sound. "Hello, hello, hello." They got a shock and stoped eating. Matilda said that it must be someone. They went to the living room, bedrooms, and even toilets! But to no avail. Suddenly Matilda's mother shouted"Maybe it's a ghost!!". Matilda then said,"Dad, why didn't you check and make sure that this house is not haunted before you brought it?" Her father pause for a moment, and ran out of the house. Mrs Wormwood and Michael went along.

The next day, Mr and Mrs Wormwood and their son came back. They decided to let Matilda go into a school. Matilda was very happy. She jumped about in the house.

When it's Matilda's first day of school, Matilda went to school by herself. Her teacher was Miss Honey. She made friends with her classmate, Lavenda. Her principle was Miss Trunchbull, who's very fierce. No one dares to talk to Miss Trunchbull...
